Good informative boat tour.
You can do a one way trio to Bute Park in the castle grounds and then get another boat back to the docks at Cardiff Bay. Round trip Is £14 per person. We'll behaved dogs are allowed on the boat.

Lovely afternoon visit to Flat Holm. BIV always very helpful, staff great company. Weather was ideal and guided tour of the island (optional but you'd miss out if you don't take it) very informative. Safety and customer enjoyment always a priority with BIV. Recommended.

The boat trip to the island was fast, bumpy and wet, but enjoyable. The guided tour round the island was very informative and excellent. We really enjoyed our trip, but would have appreciated more time on the island.

Loved it, i went 13/08/24. Weather was beautiful boat ride was fun. Ed and jess on the boat, and the lady who did the tour on the island were all informative and friendly people, would definitely go there again and stay there ! Flat home island tour.

Went out for an hour trip around Cardiff Bay. Was super fun and exciting, you do get a bit wet, but they provide waterproof clothing if you wish to wear them, life jackets provided and a safety briefing. Crew Ed and Amber were helpful and informative about the local area. Recommend 👍

The best ride ever. We are 7 people including 3 kids. All three kids were seated on the front row as requested. The ride was 15mins but highly recommended if anyone wanted to experience it. The captain was amazing and made sure to do induction upfront, given a demo of life jackets etc. Highly recommended.

For the first time in the speed boat trip. It was so exciting throughout the trip. The captain was so informative and friendly and gave us all the instructions beforehand. The power of the boat was immense and the whole ride was incredible. Will definitely go again for a longer 1 hour trip to the islands next time.

Great trip today to Flat Holm with Matt and Ed, despite the bumps and getting drenched 😂. Ed provided some more interesting facts that even I, as a local, hadn't heard before. This must have been my 4th trip over (work related) but every one has been an enjoyable experience.

Absolutely brilliant. We went on the half an hour bay & river tour & it was so much fun. Highly highly recommend, especially if you like speedboats that go fast! The guy who drove our boat was super friendly, played hilarious music & made us all scream & giggle as we sped around. Loved it!

Great experience crossing over to Steep Holm from Weston on Sunday 23rd June 2024. The guys were experienced and very friendly and made the rib ride very enjoyable. I'm looking forward to visiting Cardiff and booking more experiences with you 😀.

We took the 15-minute ride around the bay yesterday, And it was good fun. Matt was a very good pilot and managed to find as many wakes as he could in order for us to have a fun whitewater experience. For the sake of £14 each there are far worse ways to spend your money in Cardiff bay.

I went on the speed boat tour as a birthday treat with my sons and absolutely loved it!
The team were all friendly and accommodating and the ride around the bay was exhilarating... My only complaint is for when we had to return to shore - I could've stayed all day! :D

We took the boat over to Flat Holm and it was absolutely perfect. It was raining and cold while we were waiting to leave, so the lovely young woman at the booth provided us with waterproof gear. It worked! The trip through the locks was interesting and the island was really beautiful and educational info was provided by our very knowledgeable guide. We had a drink in the tiny bar and headed back for another wild ride on the zodiac. It is a definite 5 star activity!

We had a great time! We did the hour long Coastal Voyage. It was a chilly day, but still definitely worth it! We got to learn about the lock system, the Channel, and Flat Holm Island. We zipped around, and got to do a few doughnuts too. ;) Highly recommend!

In off season there is no booking required. Just go the bay and you will find out one eventually. Look for a guy in the picture. His boat is just 6£ for adults and half price for kids.

We were extremely lucky to have had an amazing sunny day at steep holm. The speed boat takes you comfortably from Penarth marina to Steep holm and the travel itself is quite nice both in the morning and in the evening. The only thing that I did not appreciated had been the long waiting time to return to Cardiff. There were only 2 speed boats and before taking us back to Cardiff the speed boats needed to do two round trips to Weston super mare to bring back those who departed from there. I understand that due to the nice weather there were many people, but waiting on the beach from 7pm until 9.20pm was tiring. Especially when the tide was riding quite fast. I think it could have been better organised, but might have been an exception due to nice weather and big demand. Overall great time at steep holm, however for the boat trip £45 seems a bit excessive.

Our visit to Flat Holm yesterday was just perfect from start to finish - helped by absolutely amazing weather.
Sean and his colleague from Bay Island Voyages were professional and friendly throughout so that we felt very safe and had a really fun trip.

Whether you’re going for a Bay Blast or a longer trip out into the Bristol Channel I can thoroughly recommend them!

We had a really good day very professional staff and friendly my 8 year old granddaughter asked a lot of questions and all where answered felt as if the crew new what they were doing and felt safe in there hands definitely going for another ride
